It seems the expose culture is to be expected when it comes to social media and influence. When considering one's motivations, in my experience it is mainly due to a lack of social awareness. Many people don't understand the impact of opinion on others actions and perceptions. In this case, how one is perceived by an individual or group of individuals. From an intentional stand-point, many factors can be the cause (revenge, anger, resentment, competition, deep-seated perceptions, rejection) for one's want to damage anothers reputation through exposure.
Tact in handling certain confrontation has left the building in many social circles and the "Game of Thrones" mentality is common as many jockey for higher social standing with the new order about the place being built of social currency. This to me leaves the youth in a "toxic by design" environment as high-school permeates beyond the brick and mortar.
Also, the concept of emotional hostage seems more prevalent and a precedence has yet to be set from a judicial perspective for those that experience extreme psychological or emotional damage through said exposure other than restraining orders passed from the magistrate due to evidence of coercion, extortion, blackmail and other fear tactics. But what is 50 yards on the Internet?
